FYI, my Avatar is actually a picture of my daughter, Jennifer Truett, on her Grand Prix horse, Lafayette HQ, who she bought for $1 because he was crippled.  She brought him from crippled and only walk-trot-canter to Grand Prix in six years.  She is a certified Ride With Your Mind trainer. and certified by USDF as well. You can view her website at www.myDHF.com.  She's the one who needs an FEI Dressage groom.

This is a full-time, live-in position that generally requires between 40 and 50 hours per week with one day off. This job is only available to legal US citizens because of husband's high security government job.

The groom is responsible for the care and day-to-day management of FEI level Owner's personal show horses and all training horses.

Duties include, but are not limited to: tacking, warm-up/cool-down hand walking, basic medical and therapeutic care, tack cleaning, show preparation, show grooming, braiding.

This position also requires excellent interpersonal communication skills to facilitate clear communication between Owner/Head Trainer and staff, veterinarian, farrier, body workers, etc. Groom must be able to work quickly, start and stay on time, and follow directions.

Applicant must also be able to logically process information, develop a game plan, communicate their ideas clearly and succinctly, implement agreed upon processes, and follow up/check-in with everyone in communication loops.

Applicant must thrive on intense attention to every minute detail of each horse, noticing even minor changes from normal states: physical, mental, social, appetite, etc.

The groom also assists co-workers with farm duties like moving hay, arena dragging, maintenance, night checks, AM feedings, stall cleaning, turn-out/bring-in, etc. as scheduled/needed.

Applicant must have experience working in a high-performance dressage, jumper, or hunter barn so they can handle the fast-paced intensity and demands of the job.
